A survey of insect pests of stored copra in southern provinces of Thailand during December 1984 to March 1987 indicated that ten insect species and four species of natural enemies were associated with copra in warehouses. The most important insect species were Necrobia rufipes Degeer, Oryzaephilus mercator Fauvel and Ephestia cautella Walker. The others Doloessa viridis Zeller, Carpophilus hemipterus L., C. dimidiatus Fabricius, Lasioderma serricorne Fabricius, Araecerus fasciculatus Degeer, Cryptolestes spp. and Microgramme filiformis Gyllenhal were minor pests. Theridion sp., Xylocoris flovipes Reuter and two unidentified species of Braconid and Falticid were observed to be predators of these insects. The damage occurred when stored the copra for over a year. There was no significant difference among copra varieties in relation with species and number of insects.
