Fish farming can provide solutions for Barbados
1991
Supplies of good quality protein at reasonable prices are essential to the continued development of any country. Fish farming is one solution to this problem as well as promoting employment. Fish culture is a year round business, unlike marine fishing which usually experiences fluctuation in supplies. Fish farming can therefore be said to be a more dependable source of protein. These are some of the reasons why the Tilapia nilotica (silver perch) was introduced in setting up a workable fish farming project.
