Sugarbeet populations from the B-85 collection are genetically divergent and are a source of new variability for the root yield and sugar content. In the tested populations, the root weight varied from 29.6 to 51.7, while the percentage of dry matter was more stable (cv=5.2 to 16.1). The relative frequency of the heaviest roots is higher than the relative frequency of the tiniest roots with all the populations, while there is the opposite situation with the dry matter.
