This report summaries the results of a series of studies that were designed to assess the rate of technology adoption by Swazi Nation Land farmers. The report is divided into three major sections. The first section describes the research procedures including the samples utilized, and the research design. The second section summaries the findings including the rates of adoption of a series of recommended practicies; the percent of farmers who use the recommended rates of application of these practicies; the levels of homestead self-sufficiency; the extent of contacts by farmers with the research and extension system; the relationship between research and extension contacts and adoption rates; levels of ownership of agricultural equipment; an analysis of gender differences relating to the adoption of practices; and the relationship of off-farm income to adoption of technology.
