Abnormal right ventricular pressure patterns in 2 horses with an augmented lactate dehydrogenase (LDH1) isoenzyme fraction

In 2 horses with an elevated LDH1 serum isoenzyme fraction, a right heart catheterization was performed using a Micro Tip Transducer-catheter. In both animals an altered pressure curve and an abnormal rate of ventricular pressure rise (dP/dt), were observed. These observations were compared with the results of 5 normal horses. It was concluded that this technique could be useful for the examination of the equine heart.
