Mechanism of the effect of natural zeolite on the improvement of cold rice soil

The results of the experiment showed that natural zeolite had a good effect on amelioration of cold paddy soil. The application of natural zeolite could increase nutrient retention ability and effective nutrient capacity of the soil, and also could increase the use efficacy of mineral fertilizers. After zeolite application, the content of waterstable aggregates in soil was raised, the soil particle's size distribution was changed. Natural zeolite had no significant influence on pH value of the soil
