On-farm Verification of Herbicides: A Case Study on Maize in Bako Area and Tef in the Nazret Area

In 1988, on-farm herbicide verification trials were conducted at 44 farms around five IAR research centers: Bako (maize), Nazret (tef), Adet (Barley) Kulumsa (wheat) and Sinana (wheat). This paper reports on preliminary results on trials conducted in the Bako area on maize and in the Nazret area on tef. In the final section selected issues concerning methodology and interpretation of results of on-farm herbicide trials are examined.
