Extension service to support business enterprises
1993
Papp, M. (Kerteszeti es Elelmiszerip. Egyet., Budapest (Hungary))
In developed market economies, extension agents are important supporters and partners of starting and efficiently operating enterprises. They can, however, do their job only if they have information on most recent research and development - both of theoretic and practical value. It is necessary for them to be open to the results and to be able to recognize value, importance and possibility of practical application. Communication with the farmers, their potential partners, is also important to pass them practical and basic knowledge. They have to support the case of their clients, listen to them and also to keep silent, if necessary, about their affairs. Extension agents are successful if "hidden profits" are uncovered, small enterprises are profitable and the level of living of farmer families rises as a result of profitable farming
