Effect of gibberellic acid and cycocel on plant growth, seed yield and seed quality of sunflower, Helianthus annuus L.
1989
Al-Janaby, J.D.M.
Two field experiments had been conducted. The concentrations applied for each of gibberellic acid (GA3) and cycocel (CCC) were (100,200,300) ppm sprayed as foliar application. GA3 increased plant height, leaf number and plant dry weight while CCC caused a reduction in these characters. Results showed that GA3 in all concentrations caused reduction in chlorophyll (a,b) and total chlorophyll. GA3 and CCC caused a reduction in the cholesterol content of oil during autumn season while during spring season both regulators caused an increase in the cholesterol content
