Fate of grain yield and its morphological components after clipping practices in barley (H. vulgare L.)

A study was carried out for the purpose of identifying highly efficient grain producer genotype(s) of barley after mechanically clipping or subjecting the stand to simulated cattle grazing during early stages of growth and development. Results showed that tolerance to clipping or grazing at prejointing stage in barley is varietal characteristic and is mainly expressed in 1000 seed weight and number of seeds/spike
