Biochemical characteristics of sunflower seeds oil and meal grown in different locations in Iraq
1988
Saleh, M.A.
This research studied physicochemical characteristics of sunflower seed oil of the cultivar sitoscl and perdovik and other local cultivars grown in different plant locations of the country. Proximate analysis was conducted on seeds oil indicating the existence of significant difference in oil composition among the different locations. There were also some significant differences in the content of phytic acid and available lysine of sunflower meal. Five different phenolic compounds were isolated and identified in sunflower meal. Chlorogenic acid was the dominant phenolic compound representing 60 of the total amount of phenolic compounds
