Four stations were selected on the lower reaches of Diyala river at Baghdad. Some physico-chemical parameters of the river water were investigated (temperature, pH, hardness, secchi disc, Ca, Mg, alkalinity, NO3, NO2, NH3, SiO2, PO4, O2 and electrical conductivity). Phytoplankton and epiphytic algae were studied qualitatively and quantitatively from the studied stations
