The ecology and biology of the Asiatic catfish Silurus triostegus, from the south eastern parts of Al-Hammar marshes, were studied. A total of 756 fish ranging from 19-920mm. were collected by monthly sampling. The reproduction started from early March till late May in shallow areas of a depth ranging from 25-75cm with extensive plant growth, when water temperature lies between 16.7-29 deg C. Hatching at 18 deg C last for 48-72 hours in oligohaline waters with high alkalinity and hardness. Environmental factors in the spawning zone were significantly higher than those mentioned before
