A possibility of determination of arsenic in fish and fish products has been investigated. Arsenic (III) or arsenic (V) was converted into arsine which was bubbled through a solution of 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium bromide. As a result of reaction with triphenyltetrazolium ion an intensively coloured formazan was formed having an absorption maximum at 480 nm. The minimum detectable mass fraction of arsenic in the products is 0,1 mg/kg. When the arsenic content is approximately 1 mg/kg the relative standard deviation is 2.2.
