Three tier approach to fish feed problems

The paper considers the problem of availability of adequate fish feed in our environment. Fry nutrition poses the greatest problem of all the fish categories. Knowledge of fingerling balanced diet formulation is now well understood and poses little or no problem. Research interest is now geared towards reduction of cost of such fingerling feed. This is done by manipulating dietary ingredients so as to spare dietary protein. In tropical earthen aquaculture system, adult fish nutrition has been shown to pose practically no problem. The problem of fish mortality resulting from fertilization of stocked ponds is, however highlighted
