1994

Results showed that for low-income farmers, native chickens can be used as a starting point in order to improve their income. However, not all introduced technologies can be adopted by cooperators. Only those with better education background, ability to spend some cash for inputs and better motivation can be guaranteed for success. Successful cooperators are expected to develop their enterprise and diversify their activities. Attitudes toward commercial orientation are essential. Recommendations are made for better selection of cooperator as well as location for farm trial. Farm trials are dependent on accurate diagnosis of system constraints and careful specification of selected technologies. Farm trial activities should be closely linked to station research and local livestock office
