Experiments have been conducted on silt soils of the Vistula, which contained different amount of floatable parts. Under conditions of post-marshy meadow forest growing on dry land usability of most important pasture species of grasses for sowing on permanent and alternate green grounds has been evaluated. Verification of the species has been done by congeneric sowing and sowing of grass mixtures, in which most important high grasses were present as dominating species. The results univocally pointed out sustainable share of higher species in greenness growth as an important factor for persistence of pastures, their botanic stability and determination of the time of first cut
