Biological value of greenhouse tomato fruits depending on the growing method and time of harvest

Tomatoes grown on straw bales medium contained the highest amount of dry matter, total sugars and organic acids, while culture by subirrigation method was favourable for vitamine C content. The environmental conditions during June and July appeared to be the most advantageous for the amounts of dry matter, total sugars, vitamine C and titratable acidity as compared to spring and autumn months. Changes in the content of mineral constituents under influence of culture method and time of fruit ripening were rather small, except K and P which amounts increased during the autumn season
