Interrelation between some traits of sunflower inbred lines and their poly-cross hybrids yield

Phenotypic correlation coefficients were calculated betweeen 16 traits of 48 inbred lines (S sub (4)) and their poly-cross hybrids yield (achenes yield, oil content in achenes, oil yield). It has been found, that the highest sunflower hybrids yield was obtained in progeny of lines which showed small inbred depression. Multiple regression analysis with elimination of non significant traits revealed, that on poly-cross hybrids yield of achenes was determined by traits of inbred lines like: number of leaves, plant height, in length of internodes flowering period, number of days to maturity
