Heritability of some traits conditioning seed yield in alfalfa (Medicado media L.) cultivar Warminska

On the basis of analyses of data on 6 seed yield traits in 59 clones derived from alfalfa Warminska, the coefficients of heritability and genetic correlation ones were estimated. The results suggested, that all these traits are high heritable, but number of seeds per pod is very variable in the years of researches. Genetic correlation coefficients between some traits conditioning seed yielding of Warminska cv. show that the seed yield is positively correlated with the all ones. It is possible to increase the efficiency of selection for one trait by selection for other ones
