Multivariate estimation of the breeding value of winter barley mutants based of block experiments

Using different estimation criteria, 54 selected mutants were divided into 3 groups, each consisting of 18 objects. In individual experiments covering 20 objects each the following traits were traced: grain number per spike, grain weight per spike, 1000 grains weight and grain yield per plot. The general hypotheses about the lack of differences between the objects with regard to all studied characters as well as particular hypotheses concerning interesting contrasts between individual mutants and initial forms and between groups of mutants derived from 2 different initial forms were verified. The studied mutants were also presented graphically in the relevant systems of canonical variables
