The experiment consisted of growing 4 varieties of fodder beet (Gigant, Goliat, Tedamono, Unia) in different levels of nitrogen fertilization (0, 80, 160, 240 kg N/ha). Fodder beets were growing at the black soil on full dose of manure (30 t/ha). Roots yield and dry matter in roots yield were different in each variety. The varieties Tedamono and Unia had higher dry matter content in roots (above 18 percent), higher yield of dry matter and energy. Depending on nitrogen fertilization level nitrogen content in roots and leaves were higher (roots 1.09-1.32 percent of dry matter, leaves 2.72-3.13 percent). Higher N fertilization level also increased yields of roots, leaves and energy
