Application of the ultrasonic method in determining moisture and linear density in wheat stalks

Three wheat varieties were examined: Jara, Henika and Kadett in four successive stages. The measurements were made on 10 cm segments cut from the middle part of the second intermode of wheat stalk. The high correlations between parameters of ultrasonic wave propagation and basic physical properties of wheat stalks make it possible to use the ultrasonic method in determining stalk's moisture content and linear density
