Research regarding the possibilities of using small-capacity tractors in cereal growing compared to the tractors of 65 HP

The paper presents the results regarding the possibilities of using small-capacity tractors compared to the tractor of 65 HP (U-650 M) in wheat culture and industrial crops. Tractors of 26 HP, 45 HP, and 65 HP have been tested on agricultural units. The experiments show that the small-capacity tractors are economical for carrying out some easy work under optimum conditions on small areas. Under difficult work conditions (heavy soils, drought, especially at tillage and disharrowing) it is recommended to apply units made with tractors of 65 HP, which provide also suitable quality indices and high productivity with normal specific consumption. For large areas it is recommended to apply only units made with the tractor of 65 HP.
