The possibilities of the use of haploids in the corn breeding are under discussion. The differences in the splitting of genes in haploid and diploid plants are described. On the basis of analyzed experimental data the variability of haploid and diploid plants is being supposed to be conditioned by effects of various genes' interaction. It has been shown that on haploid corn plants, the tassels with closed male flowers contained genotypically normal pollen grains able to develop tubes on an artificial media. This factor conditions prerequisites to the doubling of haploid chromosomes by the self-pollination
