Regeneration of adventitious shoot from the leaf tissues of pear (Pyrus communis L.)

The regeneration ability of adventitious shoots in some pear cultivars was studied. Cultures in viro were obtained from mature trees grown in the orchads of the Institute of Horticulture. For regeneration experiments, leaves were cut in halves perpendicularly to the mid rib and placed into petry dishes on the MS medium supplemented with naphthalenacetic acid (NAA) proved most efficient for stimulation of adventitious shoots among the tested growth regulators
