Peptides with the molecular weight bellow 10 kDa are considered to be signal molecules which, through tyrosine kinase activity, or their phosphoinositidin signaling systems, effectively influence various cells. From chicken blood, peptides with the molecular weight below 1 kDa were isolated. Using Sephadex chromatography, the peptides were separated into 3 different fractions which differed in molecular weight and amino acid composition. The biological activity of all 3 low molecular peptidic fractions was examined with isolated calf lymphocytes. The 2nd fraction, with a high lysine content, has shown the major effect.
