Moravac - a new variety of peas for seed

New Yugoslav line of fodder peas for seed, NS-37-06, was studied for yield and seed quality and compared with a standard (variety Timo) at three locations and a three-year period. For all locations and years of investigation, average yield of seed was 3.40 t/ha and it ranged from 2.65 t/ha to 4.06 t/ha. The content of crude proteins in seed ranged from 23 to 25. According to the results obtained, the line NS-37-06 was approved and listed in a register of varieties under name Moravac. The breeder of the variety is D.A.Sc. Vojislav Mihailovic, Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia.
