The influence of the way of pruning and the overweighting of the trunk by buds of the variety Riesling Italian on the yield and quality of grape

The fertility of the variety (in a number of clusters per trunk) increased with the increasing overweight trunk by buds. As can be expected, the observed effect was followed by realised yield of grape per trunk. The quality of grape exhibited with the content of sugar in grape juice was the highest when overweight was lowest. The content on the total acids in grape juice was increased with the increasing overweight of trunk by buds. The quality of wine did not depend on the overweight of trunk by buds. The more significant influence was exhibited by meteorological conditions in the year of the investigations.
