Yield stability of [Yugoslav] NS maize hybrids

Yield stability of 10 NS single-cross maize hybrids was investigated on 7 locations in Serbia (Yugoslavia) in 1991 and 1992. The significant differences of grain yield and stability parameters were obtained between hybrids, locations and years. The hybrid NS 646 gave the highest average yield (10.72 t/ha) across all locations and years. The hybrid NS 607 gave the maximum yield (16.60 t/ha) in Cacak in 1992. The hybrids NS 535 in 1991 and NS 539 in 1992 were the most stable across locations, but with pretty low yield. Taking in mind the results in both years the hybrid NS 530 showed above average yield stability and was the most tolerant hybrid against stress conditions.
