Investigations included two cultivars: Italian Riesling, as a standard cultivar, and White Riesling, clone B 21, as a recently introduced German cultivar. A degree of the vine stock load with the fertile buds showed more significant effect than the applied short and mixed pruning system. The increase in load of the vine stock with fertile buds, expressed positive influence on the increase of activated and fertile shoots number, the number of clusters and the height of yield, while sugar content somewhat decreased. By comparative analyses of data for both investigated cultivars, it can be stated that cv. Riesling White, clone B 21, generally, have had better indexes.
