Fourteen weed species were determined at pea experimental plots. The following species were dominant: Echinochloa crus galli, Galinsoga parviflora, Hibiscus trionum and Amaranthus retroflexus. They represented 82.39 of the whole weed population. The efficacy of the herbicides was evaluated 36 days after their application. Coefficient of efficacy amounted from 70.05 for Prometrin to 76.25 for Alahlor, 81.25 for Pendimetalin+Prometrin, 82.55 for Bentazon and 86.25 for Trifluralin. Application of Trifluralin caused phytotoxic reaction of pea plants. The highest yield was obtained from the plot treated by Bentazon (4.7 t/ha), and the lowest from the plot treated by Trifluralin (3.5 t/ha). There is no significant differences between treatments with respect to yield.
