Chemical characteristics, quality and microbiological soundness of the corn stored with 34 moisture in the Yugoslav, air-tight silos were studied. The control of the parameters investigated was done after 40 days of storage and then periodically until 9 months of storage. From the nutritive point of view, the chemical characteristics of the corn were unchanged and according to the existing regulations the corn was microbiologically sound. The conditions of such a way for corn preservation are unsuitable for the growth of microrganisms leading to their decrease during the period investigated.
