Winter malt barley cultivar Jagodinac has been investigated in trials of Approval Yugoslav Federal Commission, during 1989-1991. The Approval Yugoslav Federal Commission approved it as a new cultivar in 1992. The cultivar Jagodinac was developed by crossing Novosadski 313 x Kg-422. According to the botanical classification, cultivar Jagodinac belongs to Hordeum vulgare Yess, var. nutans. New cultivar Jagodinac in all places and three years of testing achieved average grain yield 7325 kg/ha on the level of check cultivar Novosadski 293. It was shown very high genetic potential for grain yield 9064 kg/ha. In comparison with standard cultivar Novosadski 293, the new cultivar Jagodinac had higher Hartongs coefficient VZ on 45 deg C for 2,4, Colbach coefficient for 1,0, and 1,6 lower protein content in malt than in check cultivar.
