Protein variability of Iris sp. in the in vitro culture

Soluble proteins in nonembryogenic, embryogenic and organogenic callus tissue produced from culture of mature embryos of the species Iris halophila, Iris sibirica, and Iris pumila were examined by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic (SDS-PAGE) analysis. The nonembryonic, embryonic and organogenic calli electrophoregrams show that in most cases nonembryonic differed from embryonic and organogenic in number, position, and staining intensity of protein bands, in all the three species.
