The mathematical apparatus of a method for determining the needs of lubricants for motor vehicles and tractors in planning and accounting for the consumed quantities, regarded as random values, is presented in this paper. A concrete example shows the practical applicability of the method for determining the optimal operational consumption of lubricants for the farm machinery assemblies and systems.
