Ability of analytical methods to characterize phosphate regime of soils

Averages of the result of six-year crop rotation of long-term polyfactorial trial were used to evaluate the rsponse of different methods (Egner, Mehlich II, Olsen and CaCl2) to P-fertilization on fertile soils. P uptake by participate in the plant does not changes in P content after fertilization; pH and sorption affect the sensitivity of reaction of water-soluble component Pv, and thus, of methods which preferentially release this component of available P in fertile soils (CaCl2 and Olsen method). Mehlich II method release more uniformly water-soluble Pv component from soil and mobile Pk component and Egner method considerably releases mobile Pk component. Mehlich II with Egner methods have a similar reaction to P-fertilization. Reactions of Olsen and Mehlich II methods depend on the type of component which prevails in soil when P-fertilizer was applied.
