Determinate, half-determinate and indeterminate tomatoes in plastic houses
1995
Jaagus, V. (Jogeva Plant Breeding Inst., Jogeva (Estonia))
Several indeterminate tomato hybrids and varieties have been recommended in Estonia during the last decade. At the Jogeva Plant Breeding Institute they were compared in temporarily heated plastic houses, where the growing conditions were near to the more spread greenhouses in Estonia. Hybrid 'Visa' of Jogeva has been recommended as standard for frowing since 1983. Of other hybrids and varieties 'Visa' was one of the earliest, but with somewhat lower yields. The fruits of 'Visa' alike the other hybrids were uniform and smooth, with mediocre mass and flavour. Biochemical data are relatively high, alike the hybrid 'Russich'. Less than the other hybrids and varieties 'Visa' was damaged by late blight fruitcracking
