The article gives the data about the yield and economic qualities of the new garden pea varieties 'Valma' and 'Herko' in comparison with recommended varieties 'Gribovi varane 11' and 'Looming'. The description of the most important morphological characters is also added. 'Valma' is early and'Herko' is middle ripening varieties. 'Valma' has been included into the Estonian List of Varieties from 1993 and 'Herko' from 1994
