Sweetpotato germplasm evaluation in 1992-1995

Local and introduced sweetpotato clones were evaluated for root yield, earliness, and dry matter content with the objective to select superior clones. Sweetpotato clones were evaluated in 2 lowland and 1 highland locations. The best yielders, consistently, across locations were 440317 (CN1489-89), 440311 (TN-66), 4400224 (Yan Shu 1), 440316 (CN1489-43), 440312 (TN-67) 440225 (CN 1517143), and 440058 (IITA-TIS 1145). Among sweetpotato true seed families, the crosses 194080, 194093, 194114, 194103, 192014, 490096, 192050, 192044, 192001, BB910061, 490025, and BB910032 had the highest number of selected clones
