Tree-site index in developing growth and yield prediction models for Leucaena leucocephala

A comprehensive study to determine the relationship between age and dominant height was conducted for Leucaena leucocephala. The site index equation generated was used to determine the yield models using ordinary least squares (OLS) and system of equations. Using the Chapman-Richards model, the site index was found to be reflective of the site properties. Selected yield prediction models showed that age, site index and spacing significantly affect yield. Single equation models accounted for 66 percent of the variation in yield
