Effect of different plant leaf extracts on brown rust and yield of wheat

Out of five different plants namely Acacia nilotica, Datura stramonium, Dodonaea viscosa, Calotropis procera and Azadirachta indica; leaf extract of Datura satramonium inhibited the uredospore germination to the maximum after 18 hours of incubation. In pot experiment, foliar application with leaf decoction of Datura stramonium showed maximum reduction in pustule number as compared to other plant extracts. In field trial, Baytan showed 100 percent reduction in pustule number on all the cultivars especially SA42 and SA75. Datura concentration (1:2) reduced the pustule development and also increased the yield as compared to check.
