Grain and protein yields of spring and winter barley grown on various textural soil groups

Winter barley was characterized by stronger response to soil texture and soil profile structure in comparison with spring barley. Depth and compaction of subsoil had a more distinct effect on barley productivity than soil texture. Differentiation of barley grain yields under various soil conditions was larger than differentiation of protein yields
