The results of the studies confirmed the usefulness of irrigation in the cultivation of intensive cereal species in very light soil. Winter cereals were found less suitable for the irrigated very light soils than spring cereals, because of lower yields obtained under irrigation conditions and lower effectiveness of the treatment
