The performed studies revealed different food preferences of the hawthorn spider mite (Tetranychus viennensis Zacher) for various apple varieties. Such variety as Novomac, Freedom and Redfree were chosen most frequently, while Primula was completely avoided by the pest. This species of mite was also reluctant to infest Pionier and Lodel variety. The Jonafree, Romus, VI-17D2, Antonowka, Priam, Witos and Florina varieties were infested at similar levels
