Final report of the fifth international rice drought tolerance nursery (5TH IRDTN, 1994)

Forty-four entries in the 1994 IRDTN were evaluated at 20 locations in 13 countries. Data from 9 test sites in 6 countries were analyzed. The entries rated good for drought tolerance were --B4414F-MR-6-3, BW311-9, B2997C-TB-4-2-1, and IR55423-01. Those with best phenotypic acceptability across the sites were -- BR1888-29-2-2-2, BR1867-20-1-4, C4-137, B2997C-TB-4-2-1, BW311-9, and BR4290-3-3-5. BW311-9 and B2997C-TB-4-2-1 were promising both for phenotypic acceptability and drought tolerance. Agronomic traits and tolerance characters of the test lines were analyzed.
