The structure of P. berolinesis by introduction in St.-Petersburg has been studied. The reduction of long shoots is observed under conditions of industrial pollution. Usually it takes place with the increasing of trees age. The lowering of the area of a leaf and the extent of development of palisade tissue, as well as amount of the green pigments in the leaves has been marked. The supposition about possibility of assimilates transport to finished growth leaves has been expressed. This has supported its functioning of leaves and growthing process in the leafage
