Photosynthetic nitrogen use efficiency (PNUE) has been shown to be greater in amaranth (C4-plant) than in common tobacco. The nitrogen deficiency in nutritious medium has caused a more considerable increase of PNUE in amaranth comparing with common tobacco. Lower dependence of C4-photosynthesis upon the nitrogen content in nutritious solution has been supposed to be typical for the C4-plants in comparison with C3-ones
