Irrigation causes an irreversible definite change of the fine disperse matter in forest-steppe, steppe, and dry steppe soil zones. It is induced by: a) alterations in the moisture regime, b) influence of irrigation water with various salt content and composition. The latter fact is the most active promotor of changes, alongside with the presence of sodium. The fine disperse substance gets re-arranged, the smectite phase is destroyed and the amount of mica-hydromica and fine disperse quartz increases
