Digestibility and using of nutrients of rations with different contents of phosphorus by replacement heifers were studied. Biologically substantiated rates of animal needs for this element under summer fattening are developed. The best digestibility and using food by animals resulted from the following contents of phosphorus under summer feeding with regard to age: 6 months - 17,1 g; 9 months - 19,5 g; 12 months - 22,4 g; 15 months - 24,1 g per head/day with calcium and phosphorus ratio (1,6-1,7):1
